Professional Coaching and Therapy

Modern life can be very fast-paced and hectic, which frequently leads to stress and an unhealthy work-life balance. The demands of work, family, and modern life in general put us under enormous pressure. Juggling all the different parts of our lives usually doesn’t work well and while we may succeed in some areas we may drop the ball in others. Stress has a negative impact on well-being and both physical and mental health. Common effects of stress on our physical health are sleep problems, tension and headaches, cardiovascular issues, and a less effective immune response, which leads to more frequent illnesses. Stress also impacts psychological well-being and mental health, and can lead to problems such as anger and irritability, burnout, anxiety, and depression.

To lead a healthier and more fulfilling life, we need to reduce stress and look after ourselves better. Making some lifestyle changes and addressing sleep, nutrition and exercise, as well as carving out time for relaxation or meditation can all help. Changes in how managers and leaders approach and support their teams can also have a significant impact not only on the well-being of the team, but also on job satisfaction, retention, and performance.

Through coaching or therapy, I can help to improve physical and mental well-being, reduce stress, and establish a better work-life balance.

Coaching vs. Therapy: which is right for you?

While coaching and therapy have certain things in common, they are distinct and separate services. One of the main differences is that coaching focuses on the future and attaining goals, while therapy focuses on the past and resolving emotional pain. If you are not sure which service is right for you it may help to think of your journey as a mountain climbing expedition. If I you were planning such a climb, who would you need on your team more: an experienced guide, or a medic? Do you know where you want to go and need some help in finding the most effective way to get there? Or do you feel lost, disoriented and as though you need to recover and heal first, before you can continue on your way?

Coaching is for you if

  • you want to focus on achieving specific goals

  • you want to take action and concentrate on outcomes

  • you want to progress efficiently from where you are now to where you want to be

Therapy is for you if

  • you want to resolve past pain or trauma

  • you want to explore your inner world and gain insights about yourself

  • you want to understand the impact of your past experiences and how they affect you now

Whether you choose to work with me in a coaching or a therapy framework, I will be working collaboratively with you in a confidential and non-judgemental setting. Working with me means taking an honest look at yourself, your beliefs and your behaviour. We will explore how these may hold you back and determine together how you want to handle your situation. I will listen, support and empower you, walking right beside you and guiding you gently but firmly towards your desired destination. Depending on your priorities you can choose from a variety of different approaches.
